This sounds very exciting, and scary as well! I have a vision of working in a restaurant kitchen and basically getting yelled at all the time (have I read too many Anthony Bourdain-type books?) Sounds like you have found a pretty good spot to learn in.

Good luck with the visa business. Sounds like a major hassle. It’s hard to imagine anything imperfect about living in Paris but I know that’s a stupid thing to say…just the romantic in me!

Michelle- haha thanks! It was good that I fought back, but later someone told me that I should’ve just held my tongue because the visa lady could have a big say on my status. So…maybe it wasn’t such a good thing after all.

stage time! that’s awesome, keep it up, jess. we’re all rooting for you!

besides, you went into this knowing there’d be days of unbearable stress and yelling and cussing (although i thought it would be in the kitchen and not at the visa lady) but you still marched on ahead and it sounds like it’ll be no time at all before you’re totally in the groove. paris or not, you’ll still have your friends and loyal fanbase cheering you on so…
